Go with the flow!
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, rhythmic, hands-on therapy designed to support the natural movement of lymph fluid throughout the body. A therapist applies light, precise skin-stretching techniques that encourage the lymphatic system to work more efficiently. This therapy is relaxing, non-invasive, and tailored to each individual’s needs.
MLD can help reduce swelling, relieve feelings of heaviness or tightness, improve comfort and mobility, and support overall tissue health. Rather than working deeply into muscles like a traditional manual therapy and massage techniques, the Vodder Method focuses on stimulating superficial lymph vessels located just beneath the skin. The therapist follows specific anatomical pathways to direct lymph fluid toward healthy lymph nodes and drainage areas where it can be processed naturally by the body.
Patients often describe the treatment as soothing and calming, with slow, repetitive movements that promote relaxation while helping manage conditions associated with lymphatic congestion, such as lymphedema, post-surgical swelling, chronic edema, or cancer-related lymphatic impairments. Each session is individualized based on the patient’s medical history, symptoms, and treatment goals, with an emphasis on comfort, safety, and improving quality of life.
